Blairgowrie Ale Trail

Blairgowrie

Blairgowrie and Rattray is a twin burgh in Perth and Kinross. Known locally as "Blair", Blairgowrie is the larger of the two former burghs which were united by an Act of Parliament in 1928 and lies on the southwest side of the River Ericht while Rattray is on the northeast side. There are bus services to and from Perth, Dundee, Alyth, and Coupar Angus, as well as (less frequently) Dunkeld, Kirkmichael and Glenshee. There is also a circular town service.

The bus station is located opposite the Wellmeadow, where Saturday outdoor markets and other events take place.

The Ericht Alehouse also opposite the Wellmeadow - on another of its three sides - is a frequent winner of the Tayside Pub of the Year award, and real ales are also available in the local Wetherspoons outlet the Fair o'Blair nearby, and the Stormont Arms about 15 minutes walk further away from the bus station at the junction of Dunkeld Road. Some buses, including the town service, also stop outside the Stormont.
