The Champion Beer of Scotland competition was held at the Ayrshire Real Ale Festival. The winner was Cairngorm Brewery’s Black Gold, which has retained the title it won last year. The presentation of the trophy and certificate will take place at the brewery in Aviemore on Friday 22nd November at about 1.30pm. There’s a train from the south which arrives at about 1250 (or an earlier one about 1130) which would give enough time to walk or taxi out to the brewery. Return train home about 1810. There’s also bus options for those able to use concession cards. Again, it would be great to see a good turnout for this, but I appreciate it’s quite a long day trip for some folk.
