Historic city-centre pub with front terrace and function room.

Perhaps Perth's oldest pub, and with no name change. Tastefully refurbished in early 2026 while maintaining its traditional character, a large oil painting of a sailing ship being of particular interest. A lounge area to left of bar has a selection of books for reading. The upstairs lounge reopened as 'Above Board' in December 2018 after 20-year closure, and has now been upgraded as ‘The Speakeasy’, while the bar area and toilets have benefitted from the recent refurbishment.

The Old Ship was an oasis in Perth for real ale back in the 1980s, and now offers three changing cask beers served from new Angram handpulls, often including a seasonal ale from Greene King, a Scottish guest beer, and from breweries down south, such as Black Sheep, St Austell or Theakston.

Tayside CAMRA's Perth City Pub of the Year 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026, the Old Ship Inn also holds the 2026 overall Tayside Pub of the Year award.

In addition to being named Beer Pub of the Year for 2026 in Greene King’s national Night of Excellence awards, the Old Ship Inn was recently included in The Telegraph newspaper’s list of best pubs in the UK, and is also a finalist in the Greene King category of the Great British Pub Awards.

As well as its cask beers, The Old Ship Inn is also renowned for its extensive selection of gins, malt whiskies, and rums.
