Tayside

About Us

The Tayside Branch of CAMRA was originally formed as the Tayside and Fife Branch in the Windmill Bar, Hilltown, Dundee, on 11th June 1975 after meetings to test support in various pubs. Founder members included Forbes Brown as Chair, Stan Stamper as Secretary, and Tony Wills as Treasurer, among others. Sadly, for those who remember it, the Windmill Bar building is no more.

Fife members of the branch later joined with colleagues from the then Edinburgh and South-East Scotland Branch to form their own Kingdom of Fife branch in 2001.

The Tayside Branch now covers the cities of Perth and Dundee, and the towns and villages of the council areas of Angus, Dundee, and Perth and Kinross.

Neighbouring Branches are Forth Valley to the west and southwest, Kingdom of Fife to the east and southeast, Aberdeen, Grampian & Northern Isles to the north and northeast, and Highland and Western Isles to the north and northwest.
